SYNOPSIS
A zoetrope is an optical toy from the pre-cinema era. It consists of a cylinder with successive windows arranged vertically. A set of sequential images is placed on the inner surface of the cylinder. As it rotates, the user sees a rapid succession of images that produce the illusion of movement.
