Stop Don't Stop is a documentary about the survival of a space and the people who inhabit it. A shopping center, built in the early 80s, once the 2nd largest mall in Porto, has today been transformed into a territory of music, a place of worship, a gigantic improvised musical studio. With about half a dozen shops still open—those that managed to survive the blow of the large commercial surfaces—the Stop Shopping Center subsists thanks to an attentive landlord who managed to turn a forgotten mall into a workplace for more than 100 bands and 400 musicians who rehearse there regularly. They are spread across its three floors, in glass-walled shops rented by the month for a symbolic price, without proper soundproofing.
