A series of 3 short films. In 1795, a servant of the priest of São Pedro da Cova found coal while digging at Quinta dos Valinhos. For the people of the village, a dramatic phase in their lives was beginning. The coal mines and their consequences triggered a series of events that have lasted until the present day. The mines were closed in 1970. Many lives were destroyed, and the health of thousands of miners suffered irreversible damage. The mines left behind ruins, hunger, unemployment, misery, and illiteracy.
