SYNOPSIS

When saxophonist and filmmaker Karen Boswall is invited by Lenna Bahule to perform at her album launch in Maputo, it becomes more than just a concert—it’s a return, a reflection, and a dialogue across generations. Rooted in decades of musical collaboration and research into Mozambique’s rich cultural traditions, this film explores the transformative power of music and the evolving role of women in Mozambican musical life. Through rehearsals, performances, and personal memories, the film poses deep questions: How has music shaped Mozambique? What has changed for women in music?
