SYNOPSIS

Two Angolan matriarchs, both named Maria, aged 88 and 108, have their memories revisited by the family's younger generations in Maria Louva-a-Deus, a documentary that uses personal history to explore the legacy of colonialism, interracial identity, and Africanness in the diaspora.
