In 1999, Portugal celebrated the 25th anniversary of the April 25th Revolution of 1974, which ended 48 years of dictatorship and fascism.
At the invitation of EBHAL (Equipment for the Historic Neighborhoods of Lisbon), the theater group O Bando staged this performance on the night of April 24, 1999, at Terreiro do Paço in Lisbon—a memory-show reflecting on the 48 years of darkness and the 25 years that followed.
Rui Simões created and designed the large-format images projected onto the walls of Terreiro do Paço during the performance.
