SYNOPSIS

The process of agrarian reform in Alentejo is viewed through an analysis of social structures and class struggle, culminating in the occupation of land by peasants and the attempt to create new labor and property relations.
Faced with economic sabotage by bosses and former owners, workers organize into unions, demanding employment and fair wages. They seek to establish a revolutionary law: "The land to those who work it!". They organize themselves into cooperatives and collective production units.
The expropriated landowners react, supported by intermediaries, farmers from the North, and sharecroppers from the South.
