SYNOPSIS

December 31, 1982. Rio de Janeiro.
Iemanjá is Brazil's most famous Orishá. The Queen of the Waters, her celebration takes place on the beach. The shore becomes a sea of offerings for the Goddess. The offering of each object is linked to the fulfillment of a promise. Vows are made and joyful flowers are sent into the ocean. If the flowers return to the shore, they represent the suffering and lovesickness of the sender, as the promise was not fulfilled.
