SYNOPSIS

Stories of courage and resistance from women who were imprisoned and tortured by the Political Police during the Portuguese dictatorship.
Across different years of the regime, various women lived in hiding, and many were captured and tortured by the *Estado Novo* political police.
Courage Today, Embraces Tomorrow, created from real-life testimonies, follows seven of these women at the moment of their capture. These seven women serve as symbolic representations of so many others.
The narrative follows three of these women through the periods of interrogation and torture. We continue to follow one of them through her imprisonment, until the day of FREEDOM.
While based on real events and chronological facts, Courage Today, Embraces Tomorrow seeks to tell History in a more symbolic way, grounding the narrative in feminine sensibility and a touch of “poetry,” without ever whitewashing the horror these women endured while fighting for our liberty.
