SYNOPSIS

Nelio's Story tells the story of Nélio, a young African boy who loses his entire family in the civil war. Set in Mozambique, the story is based on the novel by the famous Swedish author Henning Mankell.
Nélio's life is transformed by war. One night, bandits attack his town and he loses his family. He is taken to a training camp for child soldiers but manages to escape. After his flight, he reaches the capital, which has not yet been swallowed by the conflict. Nélio becomes the leader of a group of street children, who gradually come to believe he is a "healer" capable of curing diseases and raising the dead. As his reputation grows, people seek him out for help, but he remains caught in the grip of the war.
