SYNOPSIS

Letters from Angola is a journey into a forgotten past and a look at a geographical memory where two stories intersect: the story of a Portuguese woman born in Angola on the eve of independence, and the stories of the Cubans who fought in the Angolan war.
The film, told in the first person, is a crossing through today's Cuba and a discovery of the stories of Cubans in Angola during the war, revealing a lost past and an umbilical connection to a distant land. An intimate and poetic look at what we can learn about ourselves when we look at others, Letters from Angola is a reflection on the fragile place of the individual within the context of History's tectonic shifts.
